The etymology part "from list+less" doens't make sense. Nothing in list fits. I found elsewhere it's from middle English liste ("pleasure"), but I'd better leave actual changing to people more knowledgeable on this. 88.154.41.145 22:22, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
