- "The positive form (mittel) used to inflect (in mittler Nacht/in mitteler Nacht)" -- that's missing here, and of course that should be added (e.g. in case that one sees such a form in a(n older) book and doesn't get the meaning). -IP, 21:36, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

Superlative: "The superlative is also uncommon.". In older books (like 19th century) the superlative can be found, e.g. (in mathematics): "Die Entfernungen der obersten und untersten, obersten und mittelsten, untersten und mittelsten Parallelen von einander seyn p, q, g, so daß immer p = q + r." So is it just nowadays uncommon or was it also in earlier times uncommon? -IP, 20:39, 2 May 2015 (UTC)
