Muriatic Acid is a term that is still frequently seen in the pool cleaning industry, though most people would use the term HyrdoChloric Acid instead. But, since it is still "used" in writing, is it really obsolete ?--Richardb 21:26, 24 February 2006 (UTC) In my experience, muriatic acid is used in the building industry for cleaning, particularly for cleaning excess grout or mortar from tiles or bricks. It may be used for pool cleaning, but because of the iron content, not so much for electro-chlorination. --Skelta.[reply]
