- OED just has (for (deprecated template usage) nicky tam) "A strap or piece of string tied round a trouser leg". It looks like we only need a single definition. SemperBlotto 09:25, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
- I did wonder if definitions 1 and 2 should one definition with multiple examples or two definitions. On balance it seemed to me that the two uses were sufficiently different to require separate entries and examples. I will of course concur with majority opinion on this. Definition 3 is attested both in the example given and on performance sleeve notes for the song and as it refers to a person rather than a strap is significantly different in my opinion.
