Which part of a vessel?[edit]

The fore part of a vessel; the bow; the stem; hence, the vessel itself.

??? my dictionary only tells about the front part of a Ship, not the whole ship itself

and ahts the opposite of it? rear/stern...

I agree too. The bow is the rear part--Oabernhardt (talk) 13:19, 8 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cat sound[edit]

Prow, prrow etc. may be a sound made by a cat, something between purr and meow, e.g.

  • 2009, Stooping Hawk and Stranded Whale, Sons of Liberty (page 158)
    But the cat kept coming closer also. Now, as they held their breath and wished more than ever for a protective fire, its harsh, uneven breathing was uncomfortably loud. This stopped an instant. Next came a delicate inquiring "prrow?"
