Evidence of prenounced as "own" do to possibilty that "pwn" may come from a typo of own.

I suspect this means that a pronunciation of "own" should be listed. As far as I know, 'own' is the only correct pronunciation of pwn. Recently lamers have been found pronouncing it incorrectly so I accept that this is done and should be documented, but the complete omission of the original and correct form is quite ghastly. Some brief googling suggests that when the question of its pronunciation comes up "pawn", "pone" and "own" are the most common replies. --Sorpigal 13:44, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

I think it originating from chess should be seriously considered, it would also explain how the word developed: pawned, pwned, pwn3d pwnt or whatever...

It would also give it more meaning, instead of just being owned with a p, it means that someone who is crappy and weak kick a strong person's arse... like someone in counterstrike getting a headshot against a sniper from far away in a single shot with a pistol :)

Variant spellings

Why are pwn'd and pwnd (latter may be leet-exclusive, so it might not belong as an acceptable variant spelling) not listed as variant spellings of pwned? Pwn'd redirects to pwn, and pwnd has no page (making one now, pwnd is used as a word on the page about leetspeak). While I'm at it, why does this wiki never seem to make good pages for slang? Slang is language too, people!

Pronunciation

Why is pooned in bold? The page for pwn has the pronunciations of pwn in a different (and more logically with its supposed etymology) order than their pwned equivalents. Rhymes
