In the quotation, the word "parseable" is used. The spelling parsable/parseable is disputable. Wiktionary lists it as "parsable".

The spelling "parsable" seems more consistent with other, similar words. There are dozens of words that end in "-se" (advisable, dispensable, erasable, etc.), and all of them drop the silent "e" before an "-able" suffix. There is only one word in Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, 11th edition, that ends in "-se" and keeps the "e" before the prefix. It's "useable"; and even then, it's listed as a variant spelling of "usable". What's more, if you do a corpus search, you'll find that "usable" dominates "useable" by a ratio of 4:1 or more.

In general, the silent e is dropped, except when the preceding letter is C or G (peaceable, knowledgeable). However, quotes are actual usage and sometimes contain misspellings or bad grammar. —Stephen 18:20, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
