What would it mean, lose or win, if a team is walkover? — This comment was unsigned.

"We walked all over that team" means we dealt the other team a crushing defeat. The connotation is that not only was the defeat complete, but also that the winning team didn't even have to try hard to do it - only gave up points so the losing team wouldn't feel bad. --Connel MacKenzie 02:18, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Horse race with only one entrant[edit]

Chambers 1908 says "a race where one competitor appears, who has to cover the course to be entitled to the prize" -- so perhaps not just horses? Equinox 19:31, 22 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
