Usage[edit]

Used to create sense lines for past tense (suffix conjugation) forms of Hebrew verbs. May be combined with a translation, if you're into that sort of thing. Also adds entries to Category:Hebrew verb forms.

Parameters[edit]

The template name itself is basically a parameter:

  • use {{he-Past of}} to start with a capital letter ("F", "S", or "T")
  • use {{he-past of}} to start with a lowercase letter ("f", "s", or "t")

Additionally, it supports the following real parameters:

  • unnamed (1=…) — required — the lemma form (third-person masculine singular past tense/suffix conjugation)
  • wv=… — optional — the lemma form with vowels; use dwv instead if the lemma form with vowels is spelled defectively but, without vowels, excessively
  • tr=… — the transliteration of the lemma form (see Wiktionary:About Hebrew) — required unless the lemma form and the current form are spelled the same
  • p=1, p=2, or p=3 — required — person (first/second/third)
  • g=m or g=f — required unless p=1 — gender (masculine/feminine)
  • n=s or n=p — required — number (singular/plural)
  • .=. — adds a period (full stop) to the end, inside the <span class="use-with-mention"> tags — for the (literally) punctilious. (The non-punctilious can just add the period after the template call.)
  • op, og, on — optional — the person (1 for first person, 2 for second, 3 for third), gender (m and f), and number (s for singular, p for plural) of a direct-object suffix. If any is specified, the others must be, except that if op=1 then og should not be specified.
  • cap=uc or cap=lc — used by {{he-Past of}}, listed here only for completeness' sake
  • ns={{NAMESPACE}} — for testing purposes only, listed here only for completeness' sake
If any required parameter is missing (unnamed, tr, p, sometimes-g, or n), it adds the entry to Category:Hebrew terms needing attention.
