jussive mood (prefix conjugation) of {{{1}}}

The following documentation is located at Template:he-jussive of/documentation. [edit]

Synopsis[edit]

E.g. for יְהִי:

# {{he-Jussive of|היה|wv=הָיָה|tr=hayá|p=3|g=f|n=s|.=.}}
# {{he-Jussive of|היה|wv=הָיָה|tr=hayá|p=3|g=f|n=s|.=:}} shall be, etc.; [she/it] shall be, etc.
# Shall be, etc.; [she/it] shall be, etc.: {{he-jussive of|היה|wv=הָיָה|tr=hayá|p=3|g=f|n=s|.=.}}

produces:

  1. Third-person feminine singular jussive mood (prefix conjugation) of הָיָה (hayá).
  2. Third-person feminine singular jussive mood (prefix conjugation) of הָיָה (hayá): shall be, etc.; [she/it] shall be, etc.
  3. Shall be, etc.; [she/it] shall be, etc.: third-person feminine singular jussive mood (prefix conjugation) of הָיָה (hayá).

Usage[edit]

Used to create sense lines for jussive mood (prefix conjugation) forms of Hebrew verbs. May be combined with a translation, if you're into that sort of thing. Also adds entries to Category:Hebrew verb forms.

Parameters[edit]

The template name itself is basically a parameter:

  • use {{he-Jussive of}} to start with a capital letter ("F", "S", or "T")
  • use {{he-jussive of}} to start with a lowercase letter ("f", "s", or "t")

Additionally, it supports the following real parameters:

  • unnamed (1=…) — required — the lemma form (third-person masculine singular past tense/suffix conjugation)
  • wv=… — recommended — the lemma form, with vowels; use dwv instead if the lemma form is spelled excessively but, with vowels, defectively
  • tr=… — required — the transliteration of the lemma form (see Wiktionary:About Hebrew)
  • p=1, p=2, or p=3 — required — person (first/second/third)
  • g=m or g=f — required in some cases — gender (masculine/feminine)
  • n=s or n=p — required — number (singular/plural)
  • .=. — adds a period (full stop) to the end, inside the <span class="use-with-mention"> tags — for the (literally) punctilious. (The non-punctilious can just add the period after the template call.)
  • cap=uc or cap=lc — used by {{he-Jussive of}}, listed here only for completeness' sake
  • ns={{NAMESPACE}} — for testing purposes only, listed here only for completeness' sake
If any required parameter is missing (unnamed, tr, p, sometimes-g, or n), it adds the entry to Category:Hebrew terms needing attention.
