The following documentation is located at Template:was wotd/documentation. [edit]

Usage

This template is included in former WOTD entries, to indicate it not only was already nominated, but also already have been featured on the main page. This way it doesn't get renominated, wasting everyone's time.

{{was wotd|parameter 1|parameter 2|parameter 3}}
The parameter 1 (year, e.g. 2007) is required. Pointing to recycled pages is bypassed.
The parameter 2 (month name, e.g. January) is required. Month must be spelled out to render the unambiguous date.
The parameter 3 (day of month, e.g. 24 or 5) is required. It must match whatever format is used for a section title on the archive page.

Note that the parameter defaults each point to impossible pages – we did not do WOTD in 2005, this is the Gregorian calendar, so I checked w:Month and picked a "thirteenth" month listed on a system there, and lastly, the day is defaulted as "32".

  • For example: {{was wotd|2006|January|10}}
