I have recently taken to using this as if it took an anonymous argument, as a way of "commenting out" excess verbiage:
He went to the foo {{...|, blah blah blah blah}} and barred.
This allows us to preserve the original text of the quotation -- in case other users ever need to refer to it -- without bogging down the visible entry text in non-illustrative gunk. I thought I should mention this here in case someone was actually thinking of adding an anonymous arg, which would conflict with this. -- Visviva 07:01, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
