Whtevi[edit]

Etymology[edit]

From Old Whtevi ireph, thought to derive from Proto-Lyndian *VbʰʳexðVr, via Early Awen *ərbʰeħðər (following that PL *-xð- reflexes into Awen *-ħ- and into Vasconic *-d-), from *Vbʰʳex + *-ðVr.
However, there is counter-evidence for this, since Basque bederatzi seems instead to come from Proto-Vasconic *bedera (one (allative)) (< *bade) + *-tzV (unknown Proto-Vasconic root, although known PL root).

Pronunciation[edit]

  • (standard) IPA(key): /r̝ɛpʰəɣ/
  • (Cinkeihldi) IPA(key): /r̝epʰəɣ/
