Hebrew[edit]

Please see this page; our pronunciation sections and romanisation reflect modern Israeli speech, not the actual letters used to write it. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 23:16, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I see the transliteration Nazis are still alive and well on Wiktionary. Fine, revert my edits. I don't care. 70.49.195.45 23:19, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

We're not Nazis. Trying to change a functioning system on one's own, without discussion, is counterproductive. If you keep doing this, I'll have to block you, but I'd rather not. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 23:20, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Grammar Nazi" is a colloquialism meaning someone who is a stickler for correct usage. I was not literally calling you a Nazi. I did not know that was the only standard that was allowed. Now that I know, I will adhere to it in the future. There is no reason to ban me, unless you want to be needlessly authoritarian. 70.49.195.45 23:40, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I know that. I'm a native English speaker. I simply dislike the turn of phrase. I also dislike blocking well-meaning contributors. Please note: using the word 'Nazi' to refer to somebody is unlikely to win you their respect. In any case, if you have any questions about contributing, I'll be glad to help. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 23:42, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am a well-meaning contributor. Let's strike an accord: I apologize for my snarky tone, and in return let's pretend this unpleasantness never happened. 70.49.195.45 03:09, 23 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I believe you. It's a deal! PS: I recommend registering an account. Due to excess vandalism, we tend to be much more suspicious of anonymous editors. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 03:16, 23 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
