Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wiktionary. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wiktionarian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk (discussion) and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~, which automatically produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the beer parlour or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome!

Thanks for the Tor explanation. I stick to the Wiktionary and didn't find an entry in here for "Tor". Do you think you could make one? I don't know if it's Wiktionary material, but I, for one, would appreciate it. Cheers, --Stranger 04:01, 2 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the welcome. :) I don't really know enough about Tor to make an entry here for that which wouldn't just be duplicating Wikipedia's entry. Angela 18:21, 11 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Question[edit]

Could you please explain this edit; it looks quite inappropriate. The page exists because cross project redirects don't work and leaving the Wikipedia sister-project links also fail. What portion of that page was so dramatically out of date? --Connel MacKenzie 04:57, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I rarely log in to wiktionary, so please reply at wikipedia if you want me to see any further responses (unless you're ok with me replying 6 months later!). The reason I did it is because the page is not appropriate for Wiktionary. It contained false information and clearly wasn't going to be updated since it had had only one minor edit in the entire year before I removed it. It was still full of red links and broken templates since it had been copied straight in from Wikipedia (without attribution) and never cleaned up. Information about the Foundation should be linked to on the relevant project (such as the wikimediafoundation.org site) rather than attempting to keep an out of date copy on each wiki.
