Hi Dave, I have added a Latin entry to procurator - but my dictionary disagrees with you as to the plural - I have no idea who is correct. SemperBlotto 14:44, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi, Jeff. I'm new to editing pages so I'm anxious not to break anything or upset people. I thought I was editing a Latin word, then realised it was English. I wasn't quite sure how to proceed in that case, but now I see. I think you'll find I'm right on the plural. Procuratoris is the genitive singular. See <http://www.stoa.org/hopper/morph.jsp?la=la&l=procuratoris>. Dave Kahn 15:29, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
OK dave, I'm no Latin scholar - so feel free to correct it. I downloaded my Latin dictionary from [1]] SemperBlotto 15:43, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
I've just had a look at that and it looks correct, but I think you may have misunderstood it. The entry for procurator is procurator, procuratoris N (3rd) M. The second variant is not the plural but the genitive singular. In Latin it's conventional to give this with the nominative as it tells you the declension and the stem.
If you type in procuratoris it tells you it could be genitive singular or accusative plural. In this case the accusative is a less common variant.
If you try procuratores it tells you nominative, vocative or accusative plural. So it agrees in effect with procuratores as a plural. The variants are a weakness I've noticed with the Latin inflection templates as they're not covered. Dave Kahn 16:15, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
p.s. I've just seen your user page. I once used an AS/400 - though I'm a System/370 person really (or I was until I retired). SemperBlotto 15:48, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
Created about 10 minutes ago. :-) I used to work on the S/370 using DOS/VS and before that on the S/360, and before that ICL's 360 clone the System/4 using the 5J operating system. The people who trained me had cut their teeth on the Leo but I don't go back quite that far. Dave Kahn 16:15, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
Nice to have another person working in Latin! I did adjust your la-noun template entry a bit for procurator; you might want to look at what I changed for future reference. Bascially, you omitted the macrons from the nominative form, and linked the genitive to the nominative page. The order of arguments should be 1) nom with macrons, 2) gen without macrons, 3) gen with macrons, 4) gender, 5) declension. --EncycloPetey 01:55, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
