Soapbox?[edit]

What the hell is a soapbox? Deathgleaner 03:53, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You could take a look at the entry for (deprecated template usage) soapbox, as this is a dictionary. In any case, material that has no relevance to building a dictionary does not belong on user pages, as per Wiktionary:Usernames and user pages. That your only edits to date have been to complain about your treatment on other Wikimedia projects after you broke the rules there, it does not appear you have any interest in helping to build a dictionary, tho I would be pleased if you end up dispelling the first impression you made here. — Carolina wren discussió 04:58, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You're saying that everything on my user page MUST be related to the dictionary project? Deathgleaner 18:28, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
In some respects, we're even stricter than the English Wikipedia about what goes in userspace in that the only userboxes allowed are the babelboxes that detail one's language ability. So the answer to your question is yes, tho some latitude is allowed for self-description intended to allow fellow editors learn more about you. A link to your blog, without any commentary as to a specific post would be fine. A link to a specific post on your blog, with commentary on the userpage about an issue that has no bearing on building a dictionary is not. — Carolina wren discussió 22:06, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
