Hey, I saw your question in the Tea Room, and I thought I'd throw your answer here so you see it. Καιρός (kairos) is indeed generally limited to more specific concepts of time: period, season, etc, while χρόνος (chronos) does sometimes express a more abstract sense of time. However, χρόνος also often represents specific periods of time, such as seasons, lifetimes, etc. So, the distinction is not always there, you have to assess the context.
