Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wiktionary. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wiktionarian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk (discussion) and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~, which automatically produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to one of the discussion rooms or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome! --EncycloPetey 17:36, 29 August 2008 (UTC)

removing RFD requests[edit]

Please do not remove requests for deletion or verification of senses from entries, as you did at fable. Instead please comment at the discussion page linked to - in this case Wiktionary:Requests for deletion#fable.

Also, the question being asked in this instance is not whether the sense is verifiable (as your edit summary suggests you believed), but whether it is distinct from one or more other senses. Even if verification was being requested, then you should have added the quote to the page (without removing the rfv notice) and commented on the rfv page to say you'd done so.
