- Originally simply the plural of "você" and, thus, used in semi-formal speech, this pronoun has now replaced "vós" in virtually all of the Portuguese-speaking areas and is now used as both the plural of "tu" (familiar) and "você" (semi-formal).
- It takes third person plural verbs.
