There are several languages called "Mari":

  • There are two Uralic lects called "Mari", which are sometimes considered dialects of a single language:
    Eastern Mari or Meadow Mari (code: chm), also called "Lowland Mari", "Upo Mari", "Olyk Mari"(?) or "Standard Mari", and
    Western Mari or Hill Mari (code: mrj), also called "Mountain Mari", "Highland Mari", "Forest Mari" or "Kuryk Mari"(?)

  • There is a Sepik language called Mari (code: mbx).
  • There is an Austronesian language called Mari (code: hob).
