Numbering according to Nykysuomen Sanakirja [edit]
(Remove or better still, edit these lines when the declension numbering has been changed)
|
Nykysuomen sanakirja (NSK, literally translated as Dictionary of Modern Finnish) is regarded as an authoritative source to correct Finnish. NSK lists 85 declension types for the Finnish nouns. It should make sense to use NSK numbering here for the templates and inflection tables. Some of the types are small in the sense that there are very few words that fall into them, and some others can be easily combined. Thus every declension type may not require its own template. To help the construction work, below are examples of words falling into each type. These are the same words that NSK uses as examples. |
