Deletion archives are kept to assist sysops in determining if an entry should be immediately deleted, as most invalid terms are repeat entries; the communities time should not be wasted rehashing previous determinations.

[edit] 2008

Since early 2008, deleted pages have been automatically archived to MediaWiki:Previously deleted entries and its subpages.

[edit] How to archive

  1. Add the archive link to this page. Page names are standardised; the code to add for January 2010 is:
    * [[/2010/01|January]]
  2. Save, and click the link to create the page. Copy and paste the following into the page:
    {{archive-header|January 2010}}
  3. Save; the archive is now created. To add entries, simply cut and paste them from the main page to the archive.
  4. Optional: List the discussions on this page. This can be quickly done by copy and pasting the table of contents to this page, and then copy and pasting   |   between each heading name. (This will eventually be done automatically.)
