Request for bot status: WingerBot[edit]

  • Voting on: Enable bot WingerBot (talkcontribs), a bot created by Benwing (talkcontribs). The purpose of this bot is to automate the modification of Arabic headword templates in certain ways. The only current function is to automatically vocalize Arabic words based on the transliteration. Future functions I'm contemplating are standardizing the transliteration (which currently uses all sorts of competing systems), and removing the manual transliteration when the auto-transliteration would be the same or would be more accurate than the manual translit. This is documented in more detail on the bot's actual page. I've already done test runs of the automatic vocalization using my own account and then using the bot's account. The source code used is described on the bot's page, and can be made available upon request. BTW: Is there really a 36-day wait before allowing such a bot to be enabled? That seems a very long time.

Passes 4–0–0, I guess. Have we got any active bureaucrats besides Stephen to flip the bit? Keφr 06:28, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Stephen G. Brown, please help us close this, if you can. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 00:14, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
