  • I've been a contributor to Wiktionary for a long time, mostly dealing with Korean vocabulary but also English words relating to computers, science or politics. I think I know how to use the janitorial tools. I even served for a while as a bureaucrat at Wikipedia.
  • Recently I've come to value consensus more than ever, and I think I can help take care of admin duties here with a keen sense to what our community standards are. I won't be pioneering anything, and in case of doubt on any matter I'll simply ask what the community wants or leave it up to others entirel.
  • My time zone is US Eastern/UTC-4

  1. Oppose. Ed, you're a fine Wikipedia contributor, but I can't support your adminship bid at this time. Although you have contributions to Wiktionary going back to 2002 (!) you have fewer than 500 total edits, and they seem to be distributed in bursts, many in a single day with no activity for days or weeks before or after. Also, you have had virtually no participation in any policy discussions, deletion discussions, anything that would give me a sense that you indeed have "a keen sense to what our community standards are". I would like to see you contributing on a more consistent basis, and participating in discussions in RFV, RFD, the Beer Parlor, etc. Otherwise, I'm not sure I see what good admin powers will be to you here.   2. Oppose Robert Ullmann 21:34, 16 March 2007 (UTC) for now ... you've been making a few contributions but haven't learned some basic format yet. If you are contributing and learn our picky little details (;-) and have been active for a while (and I will concur with BD2412) ... we can use someone who is knowledgeable in Korean (we have a few contributors who are, but are not that good at English ;-) Robert Ullmann 21:34, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

But, there are some formatting issues that need to be hammered out, and I would feel much more comfortable voting support if I had seen your behaviour in discussions.   1. I'm getting a consensus here that what this project needs most from me is steady participation with attention to formatting details, and that I should chime in on some of the discussions. Decision[edit]

This is a good decision, and as suggested above I really should have withdrawn. I've been inactive for the last 6 to 8 months anyway.

My new job involves some translation into French (and maybe Spanish), as well as some Korean to English. So perhaps I can contribute occasional terms from those languages. --Ed Poor 14:49, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
