Deutsch?[edit]

Huh, is there a difference between Category:Translations to be checked (Deutsch) and Category:Translations to be checked (German) ? Kipmaster 21:26, 11 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Only the obvious difference. These were propogated semi-automatically, so any errors that people had in the entries have become (more obvious) errors here. Since these are all cleanup categories, they all need to be fixed, of course. --Connel MacKenzie T C 16:52, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Which is current, or what are the differences.[edit]

What is the difference between translations to be checked and check translations, or is the former just a later version of the latter ? Someone please clarify/cleanup. Put final into Wiktionary:Cleanup and deletion elements--Richardb 23:56, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Both are current. The Check translations category is for initially tagging entries with {{checktrans}}, if they are too lazy to put the TTBC tags in place. Since I semi-automated the tagging of such with my Javascript, I'll get to these when I have a better method of finding them. But even then, it will still be a holding area for new entries that haven't been "properly" TTBC'ed yet. --Connel MacKenzie T C 21:29, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

sections to separate pages?[edit]

The four major sections on this page should probably be split into subpages, right? Anyone feel like being bold with it? --Connel MacKenzie T C 21:30, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Remove example sentences thing?[edit]

Should we consider removing the "example sentence" request section? It seems dormant (already) from only impossible words being requested, and a lack of linking from the specific TTBC category pages. --Connel MacKenzie T C 23:57, 21 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mm, no need to I think. It's there, and people can use it if they want. If they don't, fine. Perhaps we can use it later as a basis for something better. — Vildricianus 08:11, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Isn't there a requested translations page or something? There's a link here from Wiktionary:How to check translations, but it might be more appropriate to link there or to the Tea Room. DAVilla 16:05, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lists need to be updatet[edit]

It should be possible to make a bot for this. In any case it looks like it has been some time since it last was done. Our friends the swedes for instance, have checked ALL their words yet still stand on the high volume list. Ptalatas 20:46, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm. Yes, I generated that list when I implemented TTBC, but haven't updated it since. With yesterday's fresh XML dump, perhaps I should put this on my list of things to do after each xml dump. Or maybe someone else will decide they'd like to periodically clean up the list. --Connel MacKenzie 20:00, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I generated the list from the entries I was in the process of tagging, not by looking at the category contents. So I guess this really does need to be a manual cleanup. We should probably have a separate section for "Hall of Fame" for languages that have been cleaned up to a managable level. --Connel MacKenzie 20:04, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
