As for what we did on 1 September 2014:
- Having colon (:) after the language name is a natural extension of our category names like "Category:en:Physics".
- The rhyme pages are organized by what is an auditory analogue of a suffix. Since suffixes are usually denoted with a leading dash (e.g. -ness), using dash in rhyme page names seems natural.

- Using a slash (/) creates some technical conveniences by making rhyme pages into subpages of a language page (such as Rhymes:en, which can then be filled with an organized directory). However, I don't think any of the functionality of subpages is very difficult to mimic manually. The hyphen is perceived by some as redundant, since all rhyme pages would have one, but it is aesthetically nicer with it. --WikiTiki89 18:00, 16 September 2014 (UTC)
- I don't understand your explanation of technical convenience. Do you mean that we need the technical convenience to find, say, all English rhyme pages? We don't need that; everyone just placed the category such as [[Category:English rhymes]] at the bottom of the rhyme page. And a bot could easily be run to fill that in for pages for which someone has forgotten, but from what I have seen, people have not been forgetting. --Dan Polansky (talk) 18:18, 16 September 2014 (UTC)

- Did you think subpages only have one benefit? Here are a few things that I know of: "magic words" such as
{{BASEPAGENAME}}and{{SUBPAGENAME}}become available, a link to the parent page is automatically added to the top of the page, links that start with a slash will automatically link to the page's subpages. (Just to be clear, I am still undecided about how I will vote regarding the slash vs. hyphen.) --WikiTiki89 18:36, 16 September 2014 (UTC)- I don't follow.
