anthropophilic

  1. Preferring human beings to other animals, such as a mosquito or a dermatophyte. It is especially alluding to: 1) bloodsucking arthropods, denoting the preference of a parasite for the human host as a source of blood or tissues over an animal host; and 2) dermatophytic fungi which grow preferentially on humans.
