  1. (logic) The result of replacing parts of an argument with letters, leaving only logic words such as "if" and "for all" unreplaced.
Example:
Original argument:
All humans are mortal.
Socrates is human.
Therefore, Socrates is mortal.
Argument form:
All S are P.
a is S.
Therefore, a is P.
