- (organic chemistry) Either of three isomeric univalent radicals (C4H5-) derived from the two isomers of butyne (C4H6)
Usage notes[edit]
Another univalent radical derived from 1-butyne is not a butynyl, unlike 1-butynyl and 3-butynyl, but a methylpropynyl.
