   La caféine est présente dans les graines, les feuilles et les fruits de différentes plantes où elle agit comme insecticide naturel, paralysant ou tuant les insectes qui les consomment. En revanche, chez les mammifères, la caféine agit surtout comme stimulant du système nerveux central et du système cardiovasculaire, diminuant temporairement la somnolence et le temps de réaction et augmentant l’attention.

   Caffeine is present in the seeds, leaves and fruits of various plants where it acts as a natural insecticide, paralysing or killing the insects that consume it. In mammals, however, caffeine acts mainly as a stimulant of the central nervous system and the cardiovascular system, temporarily reducing drowsiness and reaction time and increasing attention.
