Etymology[edit]

From Slavic kolęda, itself from Latin calendae. The Latin word probably left a lost or unattested Romanian word *cărinde (compare related word cărindar), which influenced or became crossed with the Slavic-derived version to make the variant form corindă.

Noun[edit]

colindă f (plural colinde)

  1. Christmas carol
