- (chiefly in the plural) vegetable (herbaceous plants with juicy edible parts; cucumber, tomato, lettuce, cabbage, potato, etc.)
- lapu dārzeņi ― leafy vegetables
- augļu dārzeņi ― fruit vegetables
- ziedu dārzeņi ― flower vegetables
- sakņu dārzeņi ― root vegetables
- dārzeņu kultūras ― vegetable crops
