  • There are two Spanish words for performance in the workforce: rendimiento and desempeño.

The word rendimiento has more to do with performance based on strict efficiency. It has to do with quantitative results, the yield produced or rendered.

That is in contrast to the aforementioned desempeño, which has more has to do with qualitative performance. It has more to do with the quality of something achieved rather than the strict numbers produced.
