Romanian[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Latin factum. Was once also the past participle of the verb face (to do, make), replaced by făcut after the 16th century through analogy with other -e ending third-conjugation verbs (i.e. cere > cerut, trece > trecut). Cognate to Italian fatto, French fait and Spanish hecho.
