ironman (plural ironmen or ironmans)

  1. (plural "ironmen") An extremely tough and strong athlete; often used specifically in reference to grueling athletic competitions
  2. (Australian) A form of surf lifesaving competition which combines swimming, board paddling, ski paddling and running.
  3. (Australian, by extension) The winner of such an event.
  4. (plural "ironmans") A gruelling triathlon.
