Etymology[edit]

From itibapishi (sibling, friend, one who was nursed together with (someone)) +‎ -li (first person singular), from iti (each other) + iba (with) + pishi (suckle). Compare Creek eta (the same; oneself; in compounds: joined, two, each other), pese, epese ((her) breast).
