Etymology[edit]

Borrowed from Japanese 小股掬い, meaning "over thigh scooping body drop".

komatasukui (plural komatasukui)

  1. (sumo) A kimarite in which the attacker attempts to throw his opponent and, when the opponent steps forward to defend himself, the attacker grabs his leg, near the thigh, and pulls upward driving the opponent over backwards.
