look ahead (third-person singular simple present looks ahead, present participle looking ahead, simple past and past participle looked ahead)

  1. To consider the future, to anticipate future events.
    You should forget the past and look ahead.
    He will need to look ahead a few years if he wants to make solid and realistic plans for his business.
  2. Used other than figuratively or idiomatically: see look,‎ ahead: to look in front of oneself.
