The difference between luvata and lupautua is more in usage than in meaning. Most of the time they could be used interchangeably. If one wants to see a difference, lupautua might be interpreted to indicate slghtly less eagerness towards the task. With luvata the example sentence above would look like this:

  • Lupasin olla heidän kuljettajansa.
