manna gum (plural manna gums)

  1. Any of various eucalyptus trees that exude manna, especially Eucalyptus viminalis, found in Australia.
    • 1985, Peter Carey, Illywhacker, Faber & Faber, published 2003, page 53:
      Black cockatoos screeched and scratched at the bark of a big old manna gum as if they couldn't wait to see it done for.
