Cognate with Dakota mathó, Mandan wątóʔ (bear), Chiwere mąthó (grizzly bear), Winnebago mąčó (grizzly bear), Omaha-Ponca mąčhó (grizzly bear), Kansa mičhó (polar bear), Osage mįčhó (grizzly bear), Quapaw mąthó/mąčhó (grizzly bear).
