The second e is pronounced long.[1]
As for Tonal Class, Benson (1964) classifies this term into Class 1 with a disyllabic stem, together with ndaka, and so on.

mũhehe class 3 (plural mĩhehe)

  1. giant lobelia (Lobelia giberroa);[2] its stem was used as a substitute for blowing horn[1][2]
