Etymology[edit]

From Proto-Albanian * ̊tek-, from Proto-Indo-European *tek(w)- 'to run'. Cognate to Lithuanian tekėti (to run, flow) and Sanskrit तक्ति (tákti, to hasten). A prefixed formation in (a)n-[1].
