- Used other than as an idiom. not out; in.
- (cricket, of a batsman at the end of an innings) not dismissed and having not retired.

(cricket): This occurs either when all other batsmen have been dismissed or when the innings ends either through declaration or (in limited-overs cricket) when the total number of overs in the innings have been bowled. When used of a batsman during an innings (e.g. following an appeal or at the end of a session or day's play) the meaning is literal - they have not been given out.
