- (cricket) term to describe a batsman who has not been dismissed at the end of an innings. This can occur either when all other batsmen in the team have been dismissed (they are said to be out); or when the innings ends either through declaration or (in limited-overs cricket) when the total number of overs in the innings have been bowled.
