Etymology[edit]

From Old High German nahtes, adverbial genitive of naht (night), whence Luxembourgish Nuecht, Nuet. While regularly lost -ch- was restored in the noun (except in southern dialects), the adverb widely resisted this development due to the final -s. (Compare the same in Recht and riets.)

Adverb[edit]
