  1. negligent, neglectful, careless, unmindful, inattentive, uncaring, insouciant, indifferent, casual, slapdash, lax, perfunctory, superficial, sluttish, untidy, slovenly, uncircumspect
  2. Note that, according to Partridge, 'off-handed is unnecessary for off-hand; off-handedly is unnecessary for off-hand. These terms may be written as one word.'
