plugfest (plural plugfests)

  1. (computing, informal) An event during which hardware devices are tested for interoperability with emerging standards by physically connecting them together.
    In the New Serial Bus (NSB) plugfest, the FooMonkey device was unable to connect to a NSB controller and therefore did not receive compliance certification.
