Verb[edit]

réfléchir

  1. (intransitive, or transitive with à or sur or que) to ponder, to reflect
    Tu dois réfléchir à ta conduite.
    You must reflect on your behaviour.
    Elle réfléchit sur son avenir.
    She ponders about her future.
  2. (reflexive) to be reflected
    Nos visages se réfléchissent dans l’étang.
    Our faces are reflected in the pond.

Conjugation[edit]

This is a regular verb of the second conjugation, like finir, choisir, and most other verbs with infinitives ending in -ir. One salient feature of this conjugation is the repeated appearance of the infix -iss-.
