ride off (third-person singular simple present rides off, present participle riding off, simple past and past participle rode off)

  1. (transitive, polo) To ride defensively so as to deflect an opposing player.
  2. (transitive) To drive away or expel (someone or something) from a location or an activity.
  3. (intransitive) To depart; to leave with no expectation of returning. (Can we add an example for this sense?)
